About the Role:

FHR is searching for our next Communications Intern to support our team in Vancouver. This paid internship is an exciting career opportunity for a dedicated team player who is an excellent communicator, has a strong attention to detail, and is keen to dive deeper into the world of corporate communications. You will collaborate with members of the team, assisting with research, writing and reporting, media monitoring, and media pitching.   This role will be a hybrid working environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Traditional and social media monitoring for clients and industry news

• Crafting punchy media pitches that will grab an editor's attention

• Coordinating interviews and suggesting story angles for media outreach campaigns

• Creating media reports to showcase the coverage your pitching earned

• Research into various topics and matters

• Writing first drafts of a variety of materials

• Providing support on other tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing

• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to learn and incorporate industry-specific language

• Exhibits a strong understanding of social media platforms and how they are leveraged by media

• Excels in writing, exhibits critical thinking, and possesses a “team player” attitude

• Brings intermediate level PC skills (MS Office -Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and TEAMS)

• Quick learner, enjoys a fast-paced environment and exceptional time management skills

• Possesses strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a well-defined work ethic

• Able to respond with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick turnaround

• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and detail including adherence to company and client standards

• Experience working in a Communications role would be considered an asset
