A powerful call to carry the torch

Sun Life inspires business leaders to continue the legacy of Canada’s health care heroes

While Sun Life Financial boasts the most complete and comprehensive group benefits offering for businesses of all sizes, they had a problem. The brand was being outshone by competition who were launching gimmicky programs and technologies that didn’t offer any real value to Canadians or society at large. We had to help Sun Life claim their voice. ​

Our idea was to remind our audience of Canada’s proud tradition of healthcare pioneers, like Tommy Douglas, who made this country world leaders in healthcare access. The new brand narrative was a bold call to action for business leaders to continue the legacy of these heroes and carry the torch for Canadian healthcare. ​

The resulting integrated campaign was Sun Life’s most successful ever. The campaign videos evoked strong positive reactions from the target audience delivering almost 1 million impressions and an impressive view-through rate of 76%, the best performing view-through rate achieved by the Sun Life Group Benefits team to date. Our digital and social ads outperformed all previous benchmarks, and the campaign content was the most shared the brand had ever seen on LinkedIn.
