Today was a major milestone for Premier Ford’s PC government; its first budget since taking power last June. Ontarians were expecting deep service cuts after months of what seemed to be preconditioning by the government that tough decisions needed to be made to rein in the deficit. The government took measures to address Ontario’s massive debt and reduce the deficit with a targeted path to balance pushed back by an additional two years, to 2023-24.
